Terms and Conditions

Statement of risk: 

Riverside Paddle offers paddling experiences and food/accommodation for adults (18+) and under 18s when accompanied by their parents/guardians. Participants must acknowledge the inherent risks associated with being on the water and doing outdoor activities and act in their own best interests. 

Participants should be made aware that there is a likelihood that falling into the water may occur. If this worries a participant, please advise the Riverside Paddle in advance of booking your experience. Riverside Paddle reserves the right to cancel or modify the activity if it believes there to be an unacceptable risk attached to offering an activity to the public e.g. in the event of flooding or high winds. 

Acceptance of guidance and leadership:

All participants must follow the guidance and instructions from Riverside Paddle to ensure their own safety and the safety of other participants. This includes launching and landing locations, behaviour on the water, lifting and portaging equipment, and always wearing buoyancy aids when on the water, appropriate behaviour around an open fire. Riverside Paddle leaders should be treated with respect and courtesy. Any participants deemed to be rude, disruptive or endangering others will be asked to leave the activity and will not be eligible for a refund. 

Statement of Physical Ability:

Paddlesport is a physical activity and participants should expect to be on the water for a number of hours over the course of the day. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they have an adequate level of fitness and confidence to take part in the activity they are booking. If there are concerns over fitness, these should be raised and discussed with Riverside Paddle at the time of booking. 

Food allergies:

Riverside Paddle can provide full ingredient lists for any food prepared on site. Participants must notify Riverside Paddle of any allergies at the time of booking and if an Adrenaline Auto-Injector (AAI) will be carried during the experience. Food prepared on site is done in an outdoor kitchen and on an open fire and may contain allergens (milk and dairy, eggs, nuts, wheat and gluten) . We cannot guarantee that products are free from ingredients that may affect those with food allergies. Participants are advised to discuss food allergies or dietary requirements before and during the experience with the Riverside Paddle leader. Riverside Paddle recognise the seriousness of food allergies but cannot assume any liability for adverse reactions to products. 

Loss or breakage of equipment 

Loss or breakage of equipment during a session will be charged to the participant at full retail value unless due to fair wear and tear.

Bookings and payments: 

All bookings will be confirmed on receipt of full payment at time of booking. By placing a booking, you are agreeing to the Riverside Paddle Terms & Conditions.

Cancellations and refunds: 

Cancellations must be made in writing (WhatsApp/SMS/Messenger/Email).

  • Cancellations received more than 6 weeks before the experience will receive a full refund.

  • Cancellations received 4-6 weeks before the experience will receive a 50% refund.

  • Cancellations received 2-4 weeks before the experences will receive a 25% refund.

  • Cancellations received less than 2 weeks before the experience will not receive a refund (excluding force majeure).

Riverside Paddle reserves the right to cancel any booking at short notice, either due to unfavourable and unsafe weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Participants should be aware that this can occur on the same day of lesson/experience and will be contacted as soon as possible via details supplied at time of booking. Where possible, an alternative experience will be proposed. However, if this is not possible, a full refund or alternative date will be given.

Health declaration: 

All participants will be required to complete a health declaration form at time of booking. Full, honest disclosure is required and participants will only be allowed onto the water once a health declaration form has been completed and submitted. If full disclosure is not given and only comes to light once the experience has commenced, and if it is deemed unsafe for the participant to continue, Riverside Paddle reserves the right to ask participant to leave the experience with no refund given.

If any participant is in any doubt as to their health & wellbeing to take part in the proposed activities, they must consult with their doctor and obtain an appropriate note to proceed.

Participants must be confident in the water and able to swim 25 metres.

In advance of the experience, all participants must advise of any health conditions that require medication to be taken onto the water. A plan will then be made with the leader for keeping the medication safe, dry and accessible during the experience. 

Riverside Paddle reserves the right to refuse any booking on medical grounds if the medical condition is considered to be detrimental to the safety and smooth running of the experience.

Media, photography and marketing: 

Throughout each experience, Riverside Paddle may take photos and videos for marketing purposes, with images published regularly on social media channels. Participants are welcome to download and share images of their experience. Riverside Paddle reserves the right to use all images, and written feedback, across several marketing channels, including but not limited to our website, social media channels, marketing collateral, promotional material emails and other marketing activities. Please advise Riverside Paddle at the time of booking if you do not wish to be photographed.

Your data:

If you have given us permission to email you about our offers and events but you later change your mind, just let us know by sending an email to riversidepaddle15@gmail.com and we will take your email address off our system.

We will only retain the medical information and emergency contact details you provide us with for the duration of your experience.  This is to allow us to look after you in the event of an accident. No later than 72 hours after the conclusion of your event, these details will be deleted or shredded accordingly.

Insurance and liability: 

Riverside Paddle staff are insured against accident and third party liability. Personal liability insurance against injury, accident or loss whilst taking part in any activity is the responsibility of the participant. Riverside Paddle will not be liable for any death, personal injury or loss of or damage to goods, arising from the sessions by them unless that death, personal injury or loss of, or damage to goods arises directly from an act of omission on the part of Riverside Paddle or its staff.

Riverside Paddle does not have any responsibility whatsoever for loss or damage to a participants personal belongings. Any personal property is at participants own risk. Riverside Paddle does not have any responsibility for the damage or theft of vehicles and their contents whilst parked at any location for the duration of the Riverside Paddle experience.

Complaints: 

If you are unhappy or have concerns about any aspect of your experience with Riverside Paddle, then we would like to hear from you! Customer care is a high priority for us. Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can rectify any issues promptly. We will aim to resolve the complaint immediately, but if we cannot, we will aim to get back to you via email within 10 business days with a proposed resolution. 

Riverside Paddle reserve the right to make amendments to these Terms and Conditions without notice.
